A Day in the Life

Kaliber Contracting’s Commercial Roof Crew

Ever wondered what goes into keeping your local businesses dry? Here at Kaliber Contracting, our commercial roofing crews are the unsung heroes, ensuring the structural integrity and weatherproofing of countless buildings. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes with a glimpse into a typical day for one of our crews!

Morning Meeting: 7:00 AM

The day starts with a crew meeting at our headquarters. We review the day’s project schedule, ensuring everyone’s on the same page about materials, safety protocols, and expectations. This is also a time to discuss any potential challenges and brainstorm solutions as a team. Safety is paramount at Kaliber Contracting, so we go over any specific safety measures needed for the day’s project.

Gear Up and Go: 7:30 AM

It’s time to load up the truck! We meticulously check our inventory, making sure we have all the necessary materials like roofing membranes, fasteners, safety equipment, and tools. Our trucks are like mobile workshops, equipped to handle everything from minor repairs to full roof replacements.

Reaching the Roof: 8:00 AM

We arrive at the project site and conduct a thorough roof inspection. This involves identifying the problem areas, assessing the overall condition of the roof, and measuring the necessary areas. We then discuss our findings with the building owner or manager, clearly explaining the recommended course of action.

Work Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Now comes the heart of the workday. Depending on the project, our tasks can vary. Today, we’re focusing on a flat roof repair. This involves removing the damaged sections of the membrane, prepping the surface, and then meticulously installing the new material. The process requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

Safety First, Always

Throughout the day, safety remains our top priority. We utilize fall protection equipment, wear proper personal protective gear, and maintain clear communication to avoid any accidents. We also prioritize minimizing disruption to the business operations below.

Wrapping Up: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The final stretch involves cleaning up the worksite thoroughly. We ensure all debris is removed, the roof is clear of any hazards, and the surrounding area is spotless. We then perform a final inspection to confirm everything is completed according to specifications.

Back to Base: 5:00 PM

Back at headquarters, we unload the truck, restock our supplies, and complete any necessary paperwork. This is also a time to debrief and share any learnings or suggestions for future projects.

The Day Ends, But the Work Continues…

While the workday is over, our commitment to quality doesn’t stop. We take pride in our work and strive to deliver exceptional service to every client. We know a well-maintained roof is vital to the smooth operation of any business, and we take that responsibility seriously.

This is just a snapshot of a day in the life of a Kaliber Contracting commercial roof crew. It’s a challenging yet rewarding job, and we take immense satisfaction in knowing we’re playing a crucial role in protecting businesses and their assets.
